Musician | Composer | Educator
A series aimed at reintroducing works by historic women composers into piano education. Following research into their role in the development of keyboard composition and educational publishing.
New Horizons for Piano offers a modern take on piano music for early grades by presenting music written by historic woman composers along with their musical biographies. In addition to being highly acclaimed composers and performers, some of these artists contributed huge resources to the art of piano teaching, resources whose historical significance and practical utility are only now being realised. This collection brings together sixteen pieces from the late 17th to the early 20th century which have been carefully selected to cover a wide range of piano styles and their various musical and technical challenges. The perfect addition to any course of piano study.
16 pieces by 14 composers Suggested order of study Composer biographies Level: Grades 2-4 (Early Intermediate)
"a marvellous collection of hitherto unknown repertoire" "wonderful music which must now play an important part in all piano-teaching programmes and recitals"

"This is a welcome sample from the much-neglected treasure of women's compositions. Historically and nationally diverse, it's a perfect supplement to any student's classical and romantic repertoire."
